Hi, please can someone tell me exactly what happens/what is discussed and asked at a pre assessment appointment for caeserean section?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I had my c section in March, at the pre assessment 2 days before - they took bloods, done a covid test, checked baby's heartrate, measured my legs for compression socks and asked about any medication I was on.

I asked any questions I had about the c section day, procedure etc. I found it helpful having the app to settle myself for the actual c section x

Mine involved:
COVID swab
Blood test to check for blood type and iron levels in case a transfusion was needed
Explanation from midwife on what to expect
Was given omeprazole to take in advance of the c section

I had my fourth c section in September. At my pre op I had a covid test done, blood tests, blood pressure, urine sample taken etc.

In my case I also had my second steroid jab as my section was being done at 37+4 and in my trust any section before 39 weeks is considered early and you are given steroid injections.

I went through my c section preferences on a form which gave options like bringing own music, dimmed lighting, delayed cord clamping, immediate skin to skin.

I was told what time I needed to be at the hospital for and told where I was on the list for the day. Also told that I needed to fast from 10pm the night before and given omneprazole to take.
