hola, i haven't found good answers anywhere else to this question that i wanted to ask.
Is it possible to get your withdrawal bleed from the contraceptive pill whilst also being pregnant??
thanks in advance :)

Ooh I have wondered this but I don't know the answer. Sorry I can't help but I hope someone more knowledgeable comes along!

I'm not expert, but I remember being told once that the contraceptive pill tricks your body subtly into thinking it's pregnant with hormones so you don't ovulate. If you were really pregnant and stopped the pill, you shouldn't have the withdrawal bleed as your body would be maintaining those hormones on its own. Not sure if that makes sense? But also, there's no set rule and our bodies all react differently to contraceptives!

Thing is, implantation bleeding and withdrawal bleeding are tough to tell apart.

Yeah. In my first pregnancy I was having a withdrawal bleed and a lot of break through bleeding whilst on the pill. I was concerned enough to go to GP and it was there (and a subsequent scan) that I found out I was three months pregnant. The bleeding was due to pregnancy (but not an early miscarriage).
