Midwife has just told me my baby is breech. Am 28 weeks. She said he has plenty of time to turn - he's never still for a minute and feels like he' doing somersaults a lot of the time. Has anyone else had a twenty eight weeker breech, move in time. Really don't want a caesarian!

chill out, loads of babies are breech at 28 weeks. Both of mine turned at 33 weeks.

Itll probably be fine. Mine was head down right the way through, turned breech at about 34-35 weeks and flipped back at 37 weeks theres still plenty of room to move for ages yet!

Definitely chill and it'll almost certainly turn.

That said, DD stayed breech till she was born. I had her at home with independent midwives. A CS isn't the only safe way to birth a healthy, term, breech baby - as long as you can find exprienced midwives. If you want to do some background reading, just in case, try and get hold of "Breech Birth - What are my Options" by Jane Evans and/or "Breech Birth" by Benna Waites.

Just relax - your baby will probably turn in their own good time. Mine left it late - right to the last minute in fact and turned the night before my elective section at 39 weeks. When did I find out? When I was on the operating table about to have an epidural and they did a last minute scan to check her position. Could have knocked me down with a feather when I saw her head down.

She was a fairly big girl (8lb 5oz) and they were fairly confident she wouldn't turn naturally because of her size, but she found a way. Perhaps if was the curry we had when we went out for dinner the night before my section!

She finally made an appearance 8 days later by CS - but that's a whole other story!

DS1 turned at 36 weeks, the day before I was due to see the consultant to discuss breech options.
