Hey, so I’m on clexane which I take every day.
Along with other things like gestational diabetes it’s possible il be induced but the consultant said if I need an emergency section or just a section in general, I’d be put to sleep as I can’t have epidural as pain relief or spinal if I have had my clexane within 12 hrs.
Is there any chance they’d let me come off it so I could have these options of pain relief and not be put to sleep? X

It’s straightforward for an elective section as you just have the last dose the night before. Most places will probably advise to stop as soon as labour starts or once the induction gets going. The exact plan though would depend on why you’re on it/what dose you’re on, and the balance of risk of benefit of GA/ other modes of pain relief for labour for you, considering all of your medical problems. Your own team should be able to give you a plan for when to stop taking it. HTH
