Rescan worry

Had an early reassurance scan today.
According to my LMP (03/09/21) I should be around 7 weeks today.
I hit peak ovulation 13/09/21- so ovulated early that cycle.
First positive was 23/09/21z
Today I went, I’m definitely pregnant, there’s definitely a sac, definitely one baby in there but is measuring very small (I think 1cm) I couldn’t personally see it on the screen.
Unable to find a heartbeat due to size, have go back 2 weeks time.
Absolutely devastated I can’t work out why the baby is so small, my dates are 100% accurate as I’ve been keeping track. I’m just so worried something is wrong.

Did they measure the gestational sac?

I had an early scan a couple of days ago due to pains, I thought I was 6 weeks but they put me at 5+5 couldn't see a baby but both sacs were there. They told me it's too early and I have to go back. I'm also terrified

The time between valuation and implantation can vary which is why when we had an early reassurance scan on NHS after multiple miscarriages they wouldn’t do the early reassurance scan till 8/9 weeks after start of last period. I totally get that you will be worrying for the next two weeks. For me, I found nothing stopped that so I filled my time as much as possible with other things so my mind was off the worry for some of the time. All the best for your next scan.

1cm is quite big for that gestation - did they mean 1mm maybe? At 6 weeks baby is around 4mm so 1mm would be quite small for that gestation.

Sorry you're going through this, OP. Unfortunately most of the time it's just a case of waiting to see if there's any growth. Dates being a few days out can mean a lot at this stage and be the difference between seeing a heartbeat or not, so it's entirely possible it is just a bit early.

I hope you get some good news at your next scan Thanks

I went for a scan at 6 weeks but I was dated only 4. I was sure it was over but that little baby is now 6 months old & currently moaning at herself in her mirror.
Good luck

I went for an early reassurance scan at 8 weeks and 3 days, like you I was so sure of dates, however the baby was measuring 7 weeks and two days, so quite a bit behind. Baby caught up by my 12 weeks scan and they actually dated me ahead by 3 days. During the first trimester there is so many things that will vary from pregnancy to pregnancy!

Try to keep positive, sending you hugs x
