So I’m 35 weeks and I’ve been having pgp since before 20 weeks but recently past week or so it’s got so so bad. To the point turning over in bed and getting up is agony, and lying on my back (for yoga) feels like my hip is breaking, walking around after sitting has become difficult too!

My area we don’t have a named midwife it’s a drop in clinic basically and every time I’ve mentioned it I’ve just been told oh it’s normal not a lot you can do. I took up pregnancy yoga to help, but it’s not even touched the sides. I’m booked to have a triage with a chiro who specialises in pregnancy but that’s next week. Can I do anything now as it’s bloody agony? Hot baths help, but is there anything else I can do?

Also the insomnia is a killer too, waking up 5+ times a night, can’t even toss and turn due to the pgp. Any tips for the isomnia?

Feeling a tad sorry for myself rn Sad

Think its normal.. had it with first... now im 20 weeks second pg and even now if i stay longer in same position my god until i 'unlock' myself from that position... and the insomnia too yep
No idea what can help... for the first just slowly slowly move it all... for the second..stare blankly at tv at 3 am... BlushGrin

Look at pelvic partnership website. Follow all advice on there.

Get a referral to physio. They can do manual therapy, acupuncture and crutches. If they refuse, complain and request a senior therapist sees you.

See an osteopath who specialises in PGP/SPD.

Fold a duvet in half and lie ontop of that at night, helps massively with the lying on hip pain.

Mine started at 9 weeks this time :/

I’m 39 weeks with bad hip pain when I sleep and insomnia too - moving myself to the spare room has made the world of difference! So much more space to find a comfortable position - and if I wake with insomnia I can read or watch something without worrying about disturbing DP.

Hey so sorry you're going through this, it's absolutely horrible😭

I had intense PGP in my first pregnancy but this time round it seems to be absolute hell.
A few things that can help.

  • sleep with a pillow in between your legs, can't remember exactly what it does but it makes a big difference.
  • wear a pregnancy belt, seriously takes so much weight off of you.
  • if you can, go into a swimming pool and do some exercises. The water takes all the weight off of you and you're able to move around so freely. It's so good

Other than that there's not much else😣
