Hi All!
Currently 39+1 playing the waiting game!
Love reading about other mums stories on how labour started, just for fun.

What signs did you notice leading up to labour starting? 🥰

I was 40+4. Bumbling around happily at home, First sign was a sort of twinge in the small of my back a bit like cramp but quicker.
Started Saturday morning it was every 45 mins or so, went to hosp 3pm Sunday. Ds born Monday 8am after a bit of a struggle.

Was laughing on the phone with dh and thought I'd wet myself, slightly concerned as I hadn't even felt the urge to go, it was my waters breaking. 😆 6 hours later I was a mum.

They’re some quick births! 😂 I enjoy reading how different everyone’s births are!
I’m looking out for every sign now! But I think I just need to chill and wait ☺️ Maybe a funny film tonight, get me laughing!

Oooh I'm 38 weeks today so watching this thread with interest!

MissLC · 22/10/2021 11:49

I had no early, early signs. My waters didn't break and I didn't lose my mucus plug until I was 6cm and the midwife broke my waters!
I was similar to @MintJulia, woke up in the wee hours of Saturday morning with pain in the small of my back but managed to get some sleep, woke up with the pain coming and going and tried to go for a walk to ease it, bounced on the birthing ball and tried to have a nap but the pain was getting worse.
FTM so didn't really think I was in labour as I had no pain or other unusual feelings around my bump.
Went to get checked out at 3pm on the Saturday and had baby at 9.20am on the Sunday.

Best of luck to you all waiting for baby to arrive. Try to enjoy the anticipation x

@MissLC I’m a FTM as well so have no idea what to expect or look out for 😂 I’m just excited now but thinking every day ‘will it be today?

Nothing at all other than having best nights sleep ever!

Woke at 9.30, tried to go for number 2 as had poo pains but couldn’t go but had cramps, thought it might be time and Baby born 2hr 27mins later!

MissLC · 22/10/2021 15:42

@nw2021 I think I was 39+4 when labour started and 39+5 when she was born.
Its so exciting, hope it all goes smoothly and enjoy your LO when they arrive

NW2021 · 22/10/2021 15:46

@MissLC thank you 🥰

So many quick birth stories! 2.5hrs @Redpanda21 is crazy quick!
It’s good to know that it can literally start from no where, I keep thinking it’ll build up to it but maybe not!
