Hi,

I'm expecting my first and trying to get a list together of all the essentials we need to buy!

Was wondering if anyone could recommend a good changing mat please?!

Thank youSmile

If you mean for out of the house then the foldable ones with compartments to hold nappies and wipes are really handy. They’re all much of a much though so I wouldn’t point you towards a specific one. If you mean the padded ones for at home that you’d put on top of a changing table then they’re also pretty much all the same so get whatever you like the look of.

Definitely not a purchase to overthink Smile

They’re all pretty much the same. We had one from John Lewis that had a terry towelling cover which I liked when I was feeling PFB and worried about them getting chilly Grin

We have a Mamas and Papas one for in the house. Before that we had two generic supermarket type ones and the plastic came apart at the corners leaving the foam exposed. The M&P one has sewn edges so this doesn’t happen. It’s lasted about two years now and still going strong on the second baby.

I got mine from an online shop called Mabel
And fox - the prints are all really cute and they seem to be good quality. I’ve a padded one for downstairs and a travel one for upstairs for in the night

Definitely mamas and papas. I must have gone through at least 10 changing mats from Amazon, John Lewis, supermarkets, mothercare, kiddicare and they ALL split after a few months and had to be thrown away as the foam was all exposed.

I bought a mamas and papas one 2 years ago and was unsure as to whether to get it as it was more expensive than others but it has proven to be very good value as it’s still going strong.
