hi i am 34 weeks pregnant and thinking of starting to take raspberry leaf tea in capsule format. i have read different things but is it safer to leave it until 37 weeks or is it ok now as i heard it helped with leg cramps which i am suffering from now - is that right? also is is worth taking it actually in labour as well or just in the run up to it?

thanks

i used the tea and believe it helped with labour. i think i started it from 32/35 weeks. i didnt make me go into labour earlier but made contractions stronger imo. i dont know about it helping leg cramps but i have heard of some people using it in early labour.

hi i was advised by number of fellow mumsnetters and mw to start at 37 weeks.

not sure about leg cramps, i've been taking it for 2 weeks and get v regular strong bh, hoping it helps but you never know.

minspugs - did you think it speeded labour up? - can but hope! I'm 39+3

RLT helps tone the uterus in preparation for labour. Don't take it before 37 weeks.
Don't know about leg cramps - but trying eating bananas and other foods rich in potassium - they will help with the leg cramps
