One sided twinges

6 weeks tomorrow and the last few days I keep having twinges mainly on one side, quite low down so more like my groin I think. I am getting twinges in random places but I do keep getting the same spot twinge over and over. It's not constant and doesn't hurt either, but of course I've freaked myself that it could be ectopic. Any idea why I'd mainly get twinges in one spot?

It's more of a prominent pain now, like a dull ache in the same spot. Would an ectopic come on so fast? Is it too early for ectopic pain does anyone know ?

Hi am 7 weeks tomorrow I’ve had a pain like that since 5 weeks and at 5+3 I called EPU as I was having a breakdown that I was eptopic and they brought me straight in examined me and said everything felt fine they booked me a scan for 2 days later I was 5+5 at scan. Everything was fine sack ans yolk in the uterus nothing eptopic. I am getting scanned again on Tuesday as I was abit to early to see much. I would say 100% ring your EPU in the morning if you feel it’s unbearable tonight call 111 or go to hospital. To be honest I’ve had the weird pains everywere since I got pregnant.

AnnaSW1 · 20/10/2021 20:31

@whatagloriousthingtobe is the pain along where your knicker line is?

whatagloriousthingtobe · 20/10/2021 20:54

No it is low down, I'd say to the left of my pubic bone just abit higher than it.
It's on and off atm. I'm just confused if it's normal niggles why would it just be in one spot and not anywhere else ?
My boobs aren't as tender today either so that's another thing making me worry
Honestly feel really down today

Get it checked out at the Early Pregnancy Unit. I nearly died from an ectopic pregnancy earlier this year because I didn't seek medical attention promptly enough so I cannot stress how quickly shit gets real with that kind of thing.

With this pregnancy (currently 14 weeks) I had twinges constantly for the first 6-7 weeks but we knew it wasn't ectopic this time as we'd had an early reassurance scan. I did attend hospital once at 10 weeks as the twinges felt so painful and I think I just went into blind panic mode but the consultant reassured me it was just ligament pain as my body adjusts to making room for my growing uterus.

Get yourself checked over just to make sure xx

whatagloriousthingtobe · 20/10/2021 21:16

I'm going to call the gp in the morning and see if I can speak to the midwife. This is an ivf pregnancy so I'm aware there is more risk so that's playing on my mind

Could be round ligament pain. I had a lot of it at the same stage.

whatagloriousthingtobe · 20/10/2021 22:19

@MustBeDueSomeBetterFeet would that be one sided though ?

Agree you should ask to be checked by the EPU but stay positive - I had an ectopic with zero pain, only diagnosed because of a tiny amount of bleeding. I then had the exact same pains as you described in my next pregnancy, convinced it was another ectopic, but all fine and 24 weeks now

whatagloriousthingtobe · 21/10/2021 07:40

The pains gone this morning so not sure what to do now, as if I ring the midwife like "I had twinges but now it's gone " she'll prob just be like oh it's normal

OP posts:
BT1994 · 21/10/2021 07:49

Can you not self refer to EPU when I had them I called them myself and they was lovely about it and was like come straight down and see a doctor and I told them mine wasn’t even like a pain it was like a little pull and ache

whatagloriousthingtobe · 21/10/2021 08:10

The top test was Tuesday and the bottom is just now. It looks lighter to me! The pain is back but it feels like a pulled muscle now so constantly there
I'm going to ring the hospital asap as can't go on worrying like this
My boobs don't hurt either so that to me along with the lighter test is saying somethings wrong

One sided twinges

Just waiting at epu, freaking out

To be honest this just sounds like normal implantation pains OP - I've had 2 ectopics both ruptured and the pain was horrendous you'd definitely know about it - it was crippling - the pain was much higher than you describe - more like if you draw a line horizontally from your belly button towards your hip

With my successful pregnancy with DD and my twins I had very strong implantation pains and niggles - just the babies getting snuggled in x

MissingGrandstand · 21/10/2021 10:00

@whatagloriousthingtobe good luck! Hope all goes well

babyboybluex · 21/10/2021 10:04

Just wanted to say I'm thinking of you @whatagloriousthingtobe ❤️ Hope all goes well x

wannabeamummysobad · 21/10/2021 10:07

@whatagloriousthingtobe
Sounds like implantation pain.I had the same but as first pregnancy thought nothing of it. Had an early scan at 7 weeks and baby was perfect.the sonographer put the probe basically on the bottom left hand side of my pubic bone and that's where the sac and baby were.

Had another scan at 10 weeks as I scared myself after running a half marathon and sonographer found baby happy and healthy with the probe 1cm above where it had been at 7 weeks.

I'm 13 weeks now and baby is still happy and healthy. Good luck x

whatagloriousthingtobe · 21/10/2021 10:16

Thank you for the kind words. They were so kind to me at the epu I had a lovely man scan me. Couldn't see baby or a heartbeat but I'm earlier than I thought, measuring 5+5. Did see a yolk sac though
Ectopic ruled out as it's in the right place. Still worried about this mornings test being lighter than the last one though

You litterly are exactly the dates I was last Tuesday when I had the pain there bringing me back in this Tuesday to re scan. Try not worry about the test I was worrying that I wasn’t getting as many symptoms as others but the last couple of days am feeling sick extremely tired and have slightly sore boobs. Just try and enjoy it for now I know it’s so hard when your only early but at least eptopic is ruled out. The nurse actually thought my pain was constipation because my Bowles where so full on scan

whatagloriousthingtobe · 21/10/2021 11:32

@BT1994 it is so hard everything little thing is so easy to freak out about. I'm still unsure with the tests, but I'm going to try not to dwell on it and wait for my ivf clinics scan now next Thursday. Hopefully all will be okay.
They say it all looks textbook but it's too small to see anything so they can't say one way or the other. I did get told to not test anymore as it's just fueling the anxiety, which I agree with. I don't think I'd have lost it as much this morning if I didn't see that test.
They can't explain the pains, but deffo not ectopic and that's the main thing.
Good luck for your scan on Tuesday, update me 💕

@whatagloriousthingtobe I'd advise to stop taking pregnancy tests as well. The concentration of line can be impacted by so many things and colour comparison will only stress you out.

whatagloriousthingtobe · 21/10/2021 12:04

I've deleted all photos of any tests off my phone and I've chucked them away ! I just need to wait til Thursday
