Would love to know how much people gained in 3rd trimester for interest. I've already gained a lot & have read some places WG slows down last month, others say it speeds up

Probably about 14-18 pounds. I had a lot of water weight though and by that I don’t mean amniotic fluid. I mean swelling. I put on 38 pounds in total and I wasn’t skinny before hand. I was beside myself because I was quite careful about food intake but just kept ballooning. All but 7lb went after a week. There’s no way of knowing what’s what with your weight in pregnancy. As long as you’re eating sensibly try not to let worrying about weight ruin this time

I only gained 8kg for the whole pregnancy, and almost none in the third trimester. Lost 2 in the first trimester, gained about 6 in the second and then 4 in the third. After the birth I was down 10kg in 10 days including a 3kg Bub.

Oh god, loads in the last 6 weeks or so. I was myself with a bump up til about 32 weeks then all of a sudden I've gained about 10kg (I think I'd put on 5kg in total up to that point, if that) and haven't got any cheekbones any more. I think there's quite a lot of fluid, as I've also gained a lot of amniotic fluid according to scans, and this coincided with the baby suddenly putting on a growth spurt as well.

I'm a bit baffled really but if I remember rightly from last time I sweated out an outrageous amount of fluid for the first two weeks and then just had that last 5kg that clung on til I went back to work and reduced my BF.

So if you do put a load on towards the end don't worry too much, you might just be a sponge like me 😂

Virtually none. Gained all my weight in the first 2, try not to worry everyone's body builds a baby differently Smile

I'm wondering the same, OP.

I've a healthy BMI, but lost 3kg in my first trimester, and didn't actually go over my pre-pregnancy weight until 17 weeks. Then I piled on 1kg a week until I'd gained 11kg. I'm 30 weeks now and over the last week I lost 1kg. I do feel it might be water weight I've lost, as my limbs were getting quite chunky but now don't seem to be as uncomfortable this week. The baby is still very active in there and I feel well otherwise, so I think I'll just bring it up at my 32 week midwife appointment. It seems everyone's different!

I put on 45lb with DD by about 36 weeks then just stopped weighing myself as it was depressing. Lost it all bar 4lb within 3 months and that was eating what I wanted and not restricting at all. I was breastfeeding though.
With DS only put on 30lbs but didn’t shift the last 10lbs until he was over a year. He was breastfed too.
DD was my second pregnancy so I was scared the weight would be impossible to shift.
I think it’s really hard to know how much is fluid etc. I was definitely puffier second time around. Try not to worry so much. You will lose so much of it within the first week pp

I've put on 4 stone at 37 weeks. I did with my others as well. I'm starting to swell up now but have lost my appetite so know it's water weight going on now x
