Hi there,

I've got a scan at the EPU tomorrow because I've been on/ off spotting (single tiny spots of pink/ now brown) for a week.

I previously lost my last pregnancy at 4W6D.

I am exceptionally anxious - which I think may be why the EPU have called me in.

I was wondering what I can expect tomorrow.

Has anyone else had a scan this early and can they share their experience?

I am trying to prepare myself for the worst.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I had a scan at 5 wk 1 day and they could see the sac and just said the features (shape, size) were as it should be but it was empty as would be expected.

I was rescanned last week at 6 wks 2 days and they saw a fetal pole with a heart beat.

Don’t expect to see too much just yet, they’ll just be looking for a sac. Good Luck OP, I’ve had a previous loss and know exactly how you feel, my anxiety is through the roof x

Ahh, I just hope they see something and it's not my nightmare scenario.

How come you had yours so early? x

I had left sided pain and my anxiety was so high after my mc in July that I just went to the EPU to get checked out. They scanned to check it wasn’t ectopic. I also had two lots of brown spotting (one after an internal and another about 5 days before my last scan) as soon as I saw it I was convinced it was over even though so many people told me spotting is usually completely normal! Which it is!

🤞🏻 for you, I really hope you get good news. I have been scanned a lot in the last few months and good or bad they alway go quiet whilst they scan so don’t take that to mean anything. x

Scan was ok. All was as it should be she said. Another booked for a week’s time where they hope to see a fetal pole and heartbeat

That’s great news, how do you feel? There’s a thread called pregnancy after miscarriage which I have found really helpful if you want to talk to others in a similar position x
