Niece was born at 28 weeks ( weighed 1.5 kg and spent 10 weeks in NICU) ....she's now 44 yrs old , perfectly healthy and has degrees in Law , French and German from top flight Uni

Tyson Fury, the heavyweight champion, was born at 28 weeks and weighed 1Ib

Not suggesting your baby will necessarily become a boxer when they’re older

Thinking of you OP! Are they having to deliver your baby today? I hope they're taking really good care of you.

Don’t know if this will help but I’m 30y born at 26weeks via c-section due to pre-eclampsia and have no health problems that we know of. Lots of NICU/incubator time initially (3months) and some childhood asthma. Development wise never had any problems what so ever, but everyone is different.

Best of luck to you and baby Flowers

Not personally but my son spent 2 months in the NICU (he was full term but had a congenital problem with his bowels). I spoke to lots of the other mums and got to know the other babies - there was some really tiny babies there born as early as 24 weeks and all doing really well.

I’m 29 and was born at 28 weeks, stayed in hospital for 9 weeks, and had no issues apart from recurrent chest infections as a child!
Currently 29 weeks pregnant with my first! And He’s stayed in longer than me so far! Try not to worry!

Not 28 weeks but I was born at 30 weeks 40 years ago and am absolutely fine so with the advances in medical care I’d have every hope for an excellent outcome! X

Not me, but my nephew was born at 28 weeks. My SIL started her mat leave on the Friday, he was born on the Saturday!

He's now 27, has ADHD and terrible taste in music Wink, but he's the best nephew ever.
