Maternity stores in central London

Hello,

I am new here. I am 15+1 weeks with my first child and am already beginning to show.

Does anyone know of any maternity shops in central London or which stores have a maternity section. I would like to know of high street stores as well as designer and mid-range stores please. For example, I love Isabella Oliver but am not sure whether she has a concession anywhere other than online, I know of Formes and Top Shop - anywhere else?

Thanks,
Orissia

Hi Orissiah, congratulations on your pregnancy.

I used Hennes in Oxford Street and Mothercare World. It is pretty much opposite Selfridges. You will find them both easily if walking down Oxford Street from Marble Arch.

Hennes is very reasonably priced, and good value, seing you dont use it very long time. Hennes was the only maternity wear that still looked great during my second pregnancy. It is fashionable and fresh. They also stock nice dresses for Christmas.

For online or catalogue shopping, you can also try Vertbaudet.

Hi, I think H&M do maternity, as do Gap, Benetton, Dorothy Perkins, Mothercare, JoJo Maman Bebe, Blooming Marvellous and some larger Boots. Also some of the dept stores have maternity sections. You are probably best to go onto some of their websites to check which branches do maternity. Good luck

Mamas and Papas on Regent Street (near Oxford Circus).

Gap on Oxford Street is good for maternity. As are Top Shop and Benneton on Oxford Street. H&M on Kensington High Steet is better than the one on Oxford Street. There is a Formes in Covent Garden. Debenhams do a range called Red Herring which is quite good. JoJoMaman has lovely stuff but I only know the branch in Chiswick, not sure if there is a more central store.

Great, many thanks all. Looking for a party dress I popped into DKNY on Bond Street today because her normal dresses are often roomy enough and I found several lovely dresses that fitted me (with lots of tummy room to expand). So I bought a grey silk empire dress that will probably last me another few months and I know I can wear it after pregnancy too. If you're into designer then I find Nicole Farhi also does some very nice roomy clothes.

Right, off to H&M tomorrow!

Hi,
If money is no object, then Blossom Mother and Child on Walton Street (Brompton Cross) is designer creme de la creme. (I used to work for a fashion company and we sold some things to them). They also have a website.

Notting Hill is great - has Bumpsville and Veronique Delachaux among others (Ken Park Rd/Ledbury Rd). Seraphine on Ken Church St W8. IO only online I think - when I went to Blossom a couple of years ago they had Isabella Oliver items with their own tags in that were £20+ more than the IO website! Only worth going there if you are into the serious designer gear, don't buy their basics.
