Hi all,
My partner and I are currently TTC. Before we started (4 months ago) I noticed I started to have some light spotting mid-way through my cycle. I wanted to rule out anything sinister so have had all the tests. They suspected PCOS but my ultrasound and bloods were fine, plus I only had one symptom (acne in my mid twenties) so it was effectively ruled out.
I essentially got the all clear from the doctors and told the spotting isn’t anything serious and to carry on as normal.
This morning (day 17 of my cycle) I noticed I was bleeding but it was completely unlike the usual spotting bleeding. Normally it’s bright red and hardly any of it. This time it actually looked like period blood but it’s far too early to be my actual period? It only lasted a couple of hours (so far). It’s about 6 days after ovulation and I have regular 30 days cycles so it’s completely baffled me. I regularly track my BBT too and it’s stayed high post-ovulation.
If it were the usual spotting I get I wouldn’t have thought anything more, but because it looked so different it’s worried me a bit.
I wondered if anyone had a similar experience they’d be open to sharing?
