Brown discharged 14+4 weeks

Can someone please help I'm terrified. A few days ago I noticed a bit of brown discharge in my knickers when I went to the toilet. When I wiped there was nothing and hasn't been for a few days.

I just went to the toilet and I have brown discharge again, there also seems to be a little clot.

Should I call the hospital? I'm really concerned, has anyone else experienced this? I have attached photo's.

Hopefully it's nothing but a bit of old blood that just got dislodged while everything is growing and expanding. It's worth calling epu for reassurance, or they might scan you. They'll probably say not to worry unless you fill a sanitary pad within an hour, or have unbearable pains. I hope everything goes well for you, i know how stressful it is. I had discharge 6-8 weeks, then a few days at 12 weeks. Now im at 15+3, still no obvious reason for the previous discharge.

I understand you being concerned but try not to panic as I had this, also at 14 weeks. I contacted the hospital and they arranged a scan for the following day at the early pregnancy unit. Scan showed all was well and after being examined I was told it was eptropic cells in the cervix. It stopped a couple of days later and I've not had any more since. I am a negative blood group so needed an anti-d injection too. 26 weeks now and baby is doing well. I'd contact your midwife team and arrange to be seen for reassurance but I am sure it will be fine.

Hey!

I had this at 16 weeks. I phoned the hospital and they weren't concerned at all since it was brown (and not much), but they let me go in to be checked just to ease my mind. All was fine, never happened again since and I'm 38 weeks now Smile

If you're worried, give them a ring to put your mind at rest Thanks

Hi ladies, thank you so much for replying to be so quickly and help put my mind at ease!

I did ring EPU as I thought I'd never forgive myself if I left it and they said to just monitor it for now as generally brown blood is just old blood making its way out so fingers crossed everything is ok!

Hey girls, I since had sex and I've bled straight after - reddish/pink. I feel like such a nuisance to ring back EPU but I'm so worried now even more. Not sure what is going on :-( I've read that it can be normal but I had none of this in my first pregnancy x

Definitely call back if it's red, they won't mind and it's worth putting your mind at ease. It's like just ectropic cells as previous posters said, especially since right after having sex, but can't hurt to ring back and they won't think you're nuts for doing so.
