Any tips for sickness?

I'm only 7 weeks but the sickness is all day... can't bring myself to eat anything 🤢

Please help 🙈

Sympathies! I'm 8 wks and have constant nausea too. It goes away when I eat, even if trying to think of what I want to eat is a challenge! What I've found helpful is:

  • as soon as I wake up, I eat one of those small belvita breakfast biscuits so there is something in my stomach
  • I follow this with either a banana (if I'm feeling really rough) or a bowl of very plain porridge (if I can wait the 4 mins by the microwave). They keep me full until lunch so the nausea can't hit as hard.

Hard boiled sweets like Werther's originals or humbugs are good to suck on if you can't stomach food but need a wee hit of sugar. I don't know about you, but last week I started getting a really nasty sour taste in my mouth that won't leave. The sweets help with that!

Good luck finding something you can stomach!

@Tofu35

Thank you! I have gone out and bought some ginger biscuits as have heard ginger is great for sickness 🤞🏻

Just the thought of eating makes me feel sick even though I am so hungry 🤣 can't win!

Not healthy but I’ve found a packet of ready salted crisps first thing helps my nausea and avoiding caffeinated drinks altogether. I still suffer from nausea but it staves it off longer. After half hour I will then eat some proper breakfast (usually plain ready brek or weetabix).

Looking at your name @curryandsnuggle reminded me that this weekend we ordered a curry (was in a rare not nauseous evening). Halfway through was feeling ill again, so I scraped all the sauce off my chicken and ate a plain naan 😂

Lol @Tofu35 I had a curry the other day but couldn’t stomach the chicken so just ate the sauce with chips instead of rice. My body seems to love potato but not much else!!! I’m a potato fiend right now.

Ginger biscuits with proper ginger in helped me massively. Ditto ginger pop made with proper ginger, not flavouring.

Really cold drinks/ice lollies helped, and bland food like mashed potato/mini cheddars/cereal bars were what I lived off Grin

Thank you everyone!

Funnily enough just had a bowl of mash and gravy 🤣 glad I was finally able to eat something as I was so hungry I cried yesterday 🤣
