I’m just wondering if anyone else on here has been diagnosed later in pregnancy and what happened? (I’m in uk) I am 37+2 and just found out last night that I do have it. I wasn’t given any guidance so I’m feeling abit lost, they just said that someone will call me today.

I’m worried if it will cause harm to baby as my symptoms have been persistent for weeks and I’ve been so run down.

Did anyone get induced?

I wasnt diagnosed late but i was induced.

I was induced at 37 weeks for GD and High BP.

Until the call, just stay away from the obvious sugars (chocolate , biscuits etc) and be careful of your carbs. When they call, they will go through everything with you.

Thank you! They actually never contacted me today🥴 so fingers crossed they do tomorrow instead.. i have heard of a lot of people being induced!
I have also struggled with high bp on and off through this pregnancy. It's not as bad as it was before but still quite high so I'm keeping my fingers crossed I'm induced🤣 I'm so uncomfortable and my mum is covered in an itchy rash that's driving me insane

You say you have an itchy rash? Where abouts? All over?

happymum1001 · 17/10/2021 17:59

It's all over the bottom of my stomach! I'll attach a picture now😭 but I'm itchy everywhere else aswell it's so bad always sets in around 4pm and gets worse as the night goes on😭 my jaw line, neck arms and legs are all itchy but don't have the same rash as my bump does

Please call your maternity triage asap. You could have a liver condition Intrahepatic cholestasis that can be very serious. I dont mean to scare you, but better to be safe

Omg thank you! I had read about this but it threw me off because most things I read where about the hands and feet itching.

I was just deciding on wether to ring them or not regarding feeling extremely unwell today so I think I'll give them a ring just be sure as I've felt sick & dizzy all day and I'm really struggling to keep my eyes open. Thanks so much for the advice!!

Yeah, deffo call them... it may be all of nothing but its worth the call.

Let me know how you get on xx

@happymum1001 Hope you're ok and getting checked out. Can I ask about your symptoms of GD? I've felt awful for ages, run down and wiped out, extremely thirsty. They won't test me for GD because I don't have any risk factors.

happymum1001 · 17/10/2021 20:36

I ended up falling asleep again😭 can't keep my eyes open! I'm about to ring now. My symptoms where extreme tiredness and extreme thirst! I was literally drinking 2litres of water through the night never mind what I drank through the day, but I've received very little help and I'm abit stressed about it because I'm actually 37+2 so it's abit late on! Bearing in mind I did get tested at 28 weeks and passed the glucose test.

I would push for the test as that's what I did to get this one again, I knew something wasn't right. You'll know your own body so just keep asking xx
