I know I know

And believe it or not was only one time HmmConfused
Currently 4 weeks pregnant and only gave birth 12 weeks ago.

I'm not even sure my body can handle a pregnancy this soon after. Has anyone had any experience?

I did it twice, dc2 was born 2 weeks before dc1s first birthday. Dc3 was born the day before dc2 turned one, and 2 weeks before dc1 turned 2. It was fine, I'm not saying it to make you feel better, it honestly was no harder than having a bigger age gap.

No, but was when dd was 9 months - but that was planned 😄 my body was still pretty battered from previous pregnancy but I managed xx

This is literally me!

Found out I was 4 or so weeks pregnant when my daughter was only 3 months old. We honestly couldn't believe it. I had such a difficult labour as I had a spinal puncture caused by a junior dr. I then lost 4L of blood and then had 3 surgeries so I'm super anxious about this pregnancy and how everything will go. However I will be having a planned C section so that reassures me a bit.

My second is due 7 days before my first daughter's birthday🙃 it's all a bit of a palava really but what can we do!

How are you feeling about the news?

Suzi888 · 16/10/2021 18:53

My cousin did, she was really happy as wanted twins /wanted two very close together to get it out the way.

Congratulations, it's a bloody shock isn't it! I'm surprised our bodies can even do it! And like you I'm worried about the outcome of so close together but it seems fairly common it seems.

How far along are you now?

This will be my third baby so it's quite full on already! I have a 4 year old
And 3 months currently 😅

Fair play to you lady! That does make me feel better. I hope I can manage with 3, pregnancy makes me pretty unwell but I have no choice but to suck it up royally this time! New baby will be on my partners birthday and then 2 weeks later DD2 birthday as well

My grandmother had twins (premature) 13 months after her first child was born.

NomoreSmiggle · 16/10/2021 19:34

Will they be in the same school year?!

MagpieMary · 16/10/2021 19:34

My mother was was pregnant four months after her second child with the third.

NomoreSmiggle · 16/10/2021 19:35

Oh and cousin had twins when the elder was just one

yesterdayisinthepast · 16/10/2021 19:54

So sorry, where are my manners lol?!
Congratulations to you and your partner alsoThanks

Such a huge shock! I was waiting for my period and it just never came😂 the drs and midwives really weren't lying when they said you're extremely fertile after having a baby and to get on contraception during your 6-8 week checkup! I wish I would have listened.

Hopefully you have a good midwife and if you have a Consultant led pregnancy then you have enough support and everything goes smoothly of course!

I'm now 13 weeks, just had my first scan on Wednesday which was really nice. How many weeks are you? Sounds like we're at similar stagesGrin

Aw third baby that's so nice! They'll all be quite close in age which will be really nice for them. How has your first adjusted to having a new baby around? Do they love it or has it been quite a change for them?

Flowersintheattic2021 · 16/10/2021 20:07

Did they not discuss contraception when you left hospital and at your 6 week checkup. I went on the pill. But you can have the implant inserted prior to discharge as well.
How old are you I'd prob wait a few years personally but this comes down to age etc

Lol thanks for your concern. Of course they did but what you don't know about me is I've used every contraceptive under the sun and also had some serious side effects. We used a condom. It's clearly didn't work!

Not 12 weeks but 24 weeks 😊. Congratulations to you @obsessedpoas. You will be absolutely fine and your kids will be super close growing up. At 5&4 there's barely any difference between mine now.

What I will say though is that being heavily pregnant whilst your toddler is learning to walk is an absolute bitch. It gets A LOT easier once you've given birth. I promise!

Manage 😂

So sorry I'm so tired I completely misread your last comment😂 you mean you currently have a 3 month old (not that you're currently 3 months pregnant now!)

Congratulations again, it's a massive shock but so nice to be expanding your family at the same time. Our bodies are so amazing, I've never really appreciated how much it can go through until now haha.

I'm sure DD1 will be a great big sister to them both. All the best in the pregnancy🙌
