How early did you start feeling kicks/movements

This is my 4th pregnancy, how early did you feel the baby? Sometimes I think I feel something but I never am sure, I'm not 100%sure on how far long I am but it could range from 8-10 weeks as I only found out the other day.

It's said the more pregnancies you have the earlier you feel the baby, have any of you felt or though you felt anything this early on?

Hey , I’m on my third pregnancy. I was like you thinking I had movements quite early , but looking back it must have been gas cramps. I’m now 13 weeks and the gas pains went away a few weeks ago and no feeling of movement since .

Strangevipers · 16/10/2021 15:26

Week 14 usually for me

Chelyanne · 16/10/2021 15:53

Around 12 weeks with singletons, 11 weeks with twins. I had an anterior placenta with the 6th but still felt her from 12wk, movements were much less than the others until after 20wk. Dh felt her at 21+5wk and the placenta had moved to the fundal position when I had a growth scan at 31+6wk.

That's around the time I started to feel movements with my last, maybe it will be the same with this one. Have you had a scan yet?

Oh wow! I hope that's not the case for me, did it worry you at any point?

Baby 1: 15 weeks
Baby 2: 12 weeks
Baby 3: 20 weeks (anterior placenta)

People will say its not possible before about 16 weeks but I know what I felt.

Houseofvelour · 16/10/2021 16:27

Dc1 - 18 weeks
Dc2 - 19 weeks

Chelyanne · 16/10/2021 17:07

@Sunnybeam early movement was no worry, we found out we were having the twins at 7wk so expected it. The fewer movements with an anterior placenta was worrying as baby followed 2 miscarriages and a few chemicals.

That's true! Every pregnancy is different, that's what I've learnt. I had morning sickness with all 3 but this one I haven't been sick at all, just a little nauseous so they definitely are all different!

I'm sorry for your loss, I've had 1 loss but I was early on. It's definitely normal to worry after going through a loss and it doesn't stop once they're here too, we will always worry.

I'm 18 weeks and have started to reliably feel them in the past week. Think it was similar for my previous pregnancy as well.

SaraKitty · 17/10/2021 18:11

Hi yea I’ve had a few scans now. I did have anterior placenta in my first two pregnancies . They think it’s normal this time . But I thought 17/18 weeks was quite ‘common’ for feeling first movements .

DockOTheBay · 17/10/2021 18:21

About 13 weeks with my second. First was anterior placenta so more like 22 weeks

Somerandomgirl · 17/10/2021 18:25

Second pg now - The whole rolling ball feeling from early...but visible separate kicks just now at 19 weeks :) 😊

zeromango · 17/10/2021 22:33

Honest to God - around 10 weeks with my second, I even posted on here and got scoffed at Grin but it was definitely him! Know my body very well. Was a shock as didn't feel my DD until 24 weeks first time! I felt DS 10 weeks onwards but v v v v sporadically until around 21 weeks when Tash because daily. Now at almost 29 weeks I sometimes feel he's about to burst out!

Oh wow! I couldn't imagine waiting that long but it must just be normal for you? Tbf though I can imagine you've had loads of peaceful nights due to baby not waking you up in the night?

It sounds like a rather common thing as I've seen so many posts about that throughout the years but I've never had it with mine. It's probably the normal for you but it's definitely not common, my first I felt movement at 19 weeks and then with the others it was early on so that's why maybe I thought I'd feel something sooner this time, can only dream I guess.

I think it was like 14 weeks with my second and that's good 22 weeks with an anterior placenta!

That makes sense! That's when they've learnt how to kirate kick hahaha!

Ahh yes! It was like that with my last, he was always moving especially an hour after getting into bed and it would be so bad I'd be worried he'd rip through my belly hahaha! But yeah it just means you're more aware of the movements and every pregnancy different, some babies are more active than others too! I'm just glad with this one I've had no sickness only nausea Grin

3rd pregnancy here and felt nothing till exactly 20 weeks. The placenta is at the front which might make a difference.

I was 10w too with DD2! It was immediately after a scan (was still lying down) and just felt this furious wriggling. Pointed to where it was and the sonographer confirmed it was exactly where the baby was.

Was a v high risk pregnancy and was reassuring to know the baby had made it that far. DD continued to make her presence felt throughout and was born just before 39w and weighed 10.4 😮
