Hypo with gestational diabetes

I'm 22 weeks pregnant and been diagnosed with GDM since 17 weeks. I'm on long acting insulin at night time. And also novorapid with breakfast and tea if I eat a carb heavy meal. Last night at half 8 ish I was really craving something sweet and I hadn't taken my tea time insulin. I have in and ate a packet of sweets. Then 20/30 mins later I checked my blood sugar and it was 3.3?! How low it was originally I do not no. Has anyone experienced hypos in pregnancy? I rang mat triage who told me to take my long acting insulin and to go to a&e which I thought was bit over the top as my blood sugar had then come back up.
