Hi everyone it's been 4 years since I've been on here I found yous all so helpful when I was pregnant with my first baby so hope you can help me again....

I have has gastroenteritis for the past 2 days its pretty much gone off now thank goodness! Yesterday tea time when I'd been for a pee I noticed clear discharge with a pinky/brown tint to it. I am currently 6 weeks 4 days pregnant I havent had any red or continuous bleeding but have also noticed my breasts aren't as sensitive.
I phoned 111 for advice and they didn't tell me much really other than gave me the wrong opening/closing times for my nearest pharmacy and told Me I should get seen by them if I can 🙃 I'm not sure how they will be able to help me as I'm still getting over this stomach bug pharmacy doesn't open until morning so I'll phone them but looking to see if anyone else has had the same discharge and still a successful pregnancy please ill upload a picture of the discharge I experienced(sorry for tmi)

Am I over thinking or should I be worried 😟 (tmi)

I agree that I'm not sure what the pharmacy can do.
I think you're going to have to just wait and see what happens tbh. At 6 weeks the EPU won't do much either.
Just keep monitoring what's going on for now

I'm sorry, it's a nerve wracking time Flowers

@LittleMrsSophieBa I had a lot of brown spotting with my last pregnancy and had a healthy baby. Just trying to reassure you.

LittleMrsSophieB · 16/10/2021 07:35

This is what I'm getting now

At 6 weeks you can and should be scanned by the epu. Depending on how it works in your area phone directly or call your gp for a referral. Hopefully it's nothing but you should get a scan to check.

SerendipitySunshine · 16/10/2021 07:50

I had similar and my GP referred me to the EPU for a scan. Baby was fine. I was glad to be reassured.

Naz2009 · 16/10/2021 08:10

@LittleMrsSophieB you can't go to maternity triage until after 16 weeks.
As its weekend you can't contact your GP and ask to be sent for a early scan
However you can go to A&E. if you're lucky they will do a scan. But I fear they will just send you home and ask you to monitor it. (I'm speaking from experience)
Seems like you've got more blood in the discharge in the second pic. As its mixed in with discharge and not blood alone, I'm positive baby is safe!!!
Try to relax, don't panic, it will stress you out and make you unwell.
Drink lots of water, you mentioned you're recovering from a bug. It all can be connected.
It's very much normal to have this sort of spotting type discharge early on in pregnancy.
Many positive reasons for it.
Don't worry about your breasts not feeling sensitive no more. Hormones tend to make pregnancy symptoms act like a yo-yo.
Rest, drink lots of fluid, take your vitamins.

LittleMrsSophieB · 16/10/2021 09:06

Thank you for this, obviously pharmacy couldn't help and told me to phone 111 back which I did so no I've got 2hr waiting slot for a call back from a specialist.....

That was quick hadn't finished typing and a gp phoned to tell me to rest and hopefully it should stop but if not I have to phone back of it gets heavy and painful

LittleMrsSophieB · 16/10/2021 09:09

Think if the bleeding stops today I still might phone my actual gp and tell her my concerns and see what she says 🙃

Good luck. I hope everything will be ok

Flutterby8 · 16/10/2021 10:08

Your GP can refer you to the EPU at 6 weeks for a scan to check location etc. But obviously on a weekend that wont happen.
If youre very concerned you can go to A&E and they can refer you up to the EPU to be checked over.
Fingers crossed everything is ok for you.

LittleMrsSophieB · 16/10/2021 16:54

After a long day on the phones and being passed from pillar to post I'm booked in for a scan tomorrow morning, the bloods heavier now but not enough to touch my underwear amd still prettymuch only when I wipe.... anyone else had similar but had successful pregnancy

LividLaVidaLoca · 16/10/2021 16:58

OP, I’m sorry you’re experiencing this.

I had two miscarriages with bleeding like this.

But also my successful pregnancy. It was a cervical ectropion.

I know it’s a scary time. EPU should see you but can’t do anything at this point other than let you know if they see anything.

LittleMrsSophieB · 16/10/2021 17:00

Sorry to hear that. Did you have any pain with your miscarriages?

OP posts:
Sandybeachtowel · 16/10/2021 17:01

Have you had any pains?
Keep us updated. Hoping the bleeding will stop, lots of rest. Hope your not waiting too long for your scan tomorrow.

LittleMrsSophieB · 16/10/2021 17:04

No pains what so ever just feel heavy like on a period, scans booked in for 9:30am

🤞🏻Thanks

Good luck, hope everything is ok for you Flowers

timeisnotaline · 17/10/2021 09:02

Fingers crossed, it’s impossible to tell from here if it’s a miscarriage or spotting thats quite common. I had it for the first time this pregnancy, I think about 9 weeks which was hard to stay calm about! It had gone after a day and baby was fine.

KJE3112 · 17/10/2021 09:09

Ive been having light bleeding from about 6w im 8w4d today. The nurse told me that light bleeding should be checked but isnt anything to worry about, the only time you should start worrying is if your filling pads, have pains and are passing clots. I hope your scan today goes okay! Fingers crossed x

TakeYourFinalPosition · 17/10/2021 09:17

Best of luck Flowers

TacoTues · 17/10/2021 09:20

Best of luck OP.

I have a sensitive cervix and (TMI) lots of pooping can cause it to bleed. So I really hope that's the case here for you and all is well with your pregnancy.

thatsnotmyzoo · 17/10/2021 09:23

Best of luck OP

mcdog · 17/10/2021 09:24

I can understand why you are worried, but nothing is certain until you've been scanned. Good luck, thinking of you

POPPYDay11 · 17/10/2021 13:23
