Ate chorizo when pregnant!

Hi all, I stupidly made a soup and added large chunks of a chorizo sausage from Sainsbury's to it. It was cooked in it for about 5 mins but that's it - I don't think it would have cooked it though, more warmed it through.

Now I'm worrying! Does anyone know the risk of getting toxoplasmosis from uncooked chorizo?

Such an idiot.

You will be fine
It was probably cooked when you bought it but if not it will be ok anyway

DoodleBelle · 15/10/2021 20:59

It sounds like it will be fine, try not to worry

proudwomansexmatters · 15/10/2021 20:59

You will be fine. Think nothing more of it.

Lj8893 · 15/10/2021 20:59

It’s only a small risk. Try not to worry.

Noluthando · 15/10/2021 21:00

I wouldn't worry

DontPeeInThePlayHouse · 15/10/2021 21:00

It's the same risk as when you'd normally eat it tbh.

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 15/10/2021 21:01

Its a tiny, tiny risk, I wouldn't worry!

I ate loads of it when I was pregnant and soft cheese and all sorts of the "prohibited list" I wasn't given the list till I was 28 weeks 😂 me and baby survived.

Also ate tons of it while pregnant. Too yummy to not have and the risk is super low.

I ate chorizo, I'm 20 weeks pregnant. My husband cooked it in a chicken pasta dish so it got steaming hot alongside the chicken... so hot.

I've just seen there's a list of prohibited foods. Oops and chorizo is on there.....

What's the risks to baby?
