Steam and hot drinks if need to loosen phlegm.
Sucking sweets and sipping water.
Book a PCR.

There are no medications that treat a cough (unless you have a lower chest infection) but book a covid PCR and stay at home, drink honey and lemon, and take paracetamol for sore throat

I have this at the moment too, also a nursery bug (PCR test showed not COVID). Nothing really you can do but rest as much as possible and wait it out. Getting upright and having a warm drink in the morning is helping me, as well as lots of fluids generally.

It sucks, you have my sympathy! Hope you feel better soon 💐

I am sorry to hear that also suffering with a bad cough. I am waiting PCR but my lateral flow is negative. I usually have movement in the evenings but there was nothing last night and made me panic. 111 referred to hospital who I called last night and didn’t hear back. Perhaps ring your maternity unit just in case. Sorry you also have a cough. It’s difficult as you feel very on your own with it due to the covid situation.

I'm 32 weeks now and had this when I was about 28 weeks also. It was awful, I was up coughing all night and my ribs and stomach muscles were in agony from straining. I spoke to the midwife and she said cough syrup was ok to take, but then 2 pharmacists told me no so I didn't take anything. Sucking on throat sweets and honey and lemon drinks helped a bit. Hope you feel better soon!!

I have the exact same thing for the last week. I'm 41+2 and I dread going into labour with it although I think I'm over the worst of it at least! I'm taking loads of lemsip and strepsils but they're minimal help, I think we just need to wait it out unfortunately.

I got a negative covid PCR but my maternity hospital still isolated me when I went in for checks today due to active symptoms.
