Hey!

I have severe emetaphobia and my morning sickness has returned at 32 weeks pregnant ten times worse so I've been prescribed Cyclizine 😭 It says on the bottle to take 3 tablets daily but nothing about how to space out the dosage.

I pretty much slept through my nausea in early pregnancy, luckily, so I never had to take anything for it. Now I'm worried that it won't help with vomiting and I'm unsure how often to take it. Due to my anxiety around vomit I would ideally take it every 4-6 hours but I'm not sure if this is correct?

If anybody has any experience with Cyclizine stopping vomiting completely, please let me know ahaha.

Thank you for any advice and I hope you're having a lovely day 🥰

I am on the maximum dose of cyclizine. I decided 3 in 24 hours meant 1 tablet every 8 hours. However, there is NO WAY I can go so long between pills.

I take one in the morning, and then about 4/5 hours later I take another one. Then about 5 hours until my last one, and go to bed before the sickness creeps in again, so I can sleep rather than need a 4th pill.

I have to say, I’m 17 weeks and I’ve only had a handful of days throughout my entire pregnancy that I haven’t vomited, so the cyclizine has helped, but not stopped it.

Hopefully it works completely for you.

Also, the cyclizine should help enough that you can try and snack to help the nausea, to try and space out the pills the best you can? I found my timings were all about trial and error. You also definitely need to take them for a few days before you feel the effects.

Thank you for the responses! My eldest had a 24hr sick bug yesterday so I'm really anxious about getting that, too! Sorry this post is all over the place, I've got so much in my head atm 😂 I'll try the 4/5 hours and see how that works out for me.

I've been taking it three times a day for about 10 weeks. I take it 7am, 3pm, 10pm. It didn't stop me vomiting completely but suppressed it a lot. It can make baby a bit sleepy so best to only take it as much as you need to. You can take it once or twice a day if the nausea isn't as bad, doesn't have to be every 8 hours. Hope you feel better soon!

I have Hyperemesis and take cyclizine 8 hours apart

Ideally 8hrs apart, but otherwise when you wake, when you go to bed and one half way between. It can make you pretty stoned if you take it close together (it’s got surprising street value!).

Hey - I also have emetophobia.

I know how you're feeling, especially with your other child having a sickness bug!!!!!!!

Cyclzine is great, but ondansatron is so much better - does your doctor know about your emet? If so can you ask for ondansatron?

Here if you need an ear - emetophobia is the worse 😩🥺 xx
