Codeine?

I’ve just had a tooth out, a wisdom or molar and my roots run deep, she battled hard with the big bugger!

I’ve taken paracetamol but the local anaesthetic will wear off very soon and can already feel the swelling and pain starting.

Can I take codeine if the pain gets really bad? I’m 21 weeks if that makes any difference. X

Codeine can be prescribed during pregnancy so probably fine. You can double check with midwife though.

Have had it from gp in third trimester, but some drugs are okay at some stages but not at others. Definitely check with midwife.

I'm on low dose codeine for my sciatic pain so it's fine if it's prescribed on low dose

I fractured my back and was on codeine for 2 weeks at 20 weeks pregnant. Have a look on BUMPS for the most up to date information and dosage advice.

Well 4 hours later and threw up 3 times so don’t think I’ll be having any more codeine!
