Discharge or amniotic fluid?

I’m 29 plus 4. On Wednesday last week at night I had a small gush.. going to bed. Just thought I’d keep an eye on it. Very small but a definite bit of liquid. Thursday afternoon it happened again and I called my midwife who said it sounded like watery discharge because it didn’t smell like wee just to put a pad on and keep and eye on it. Nothing more happened. This morning after getting up for a wee, I got back into bed and it happened again, doesn’t smell like wee, does smell like the, sorry for gross chat “ sperm” smell however we did have sex two night ago and yesterday whenever I went for a pee it’s all I could smell.. trying not to worry / not sure if I should call again because I can feel baby moving around. I’m quite anxious this pregnancy as the first one we lost at 9 weeks and this one hasn’t been easy at all! I need to stress it’s not a huge gush; just a little pool and my pelvic floor is rubbish.. I sneeze and pee but it just doesn’t smell like pee. Anyone had this before?

My waters have gone first in both my labours, and one was premature and a trickle, if it’s your waters chances are that you’d keep getting little gushes, in my case any time I moved or took a step I got a tiny bit more leaking, and a pad was saturated within about 30 minutes. It did have the appearance of watery discharge though so that’s not really helpful! Your waters can be tested in triage so perhaps it’s worth a call to them, they could either swab your pad to see if it’s amniotic fluid or conduct a scan to see what water levels are like around baby, they did both those things for me when I had the same question with DC2.
