C sec or induction?

I've heard so many stories where inductions don't quite work sometimes and mums ends up with emergency c sec/assisted birth (forceps). Is it advisable to then opt for a planned c sec rather than induction if baby decides to be late? Has anyone opt for a planned c sec by any chance? Would love to hear your story!

Hey
I was induced at 38 weeks had 3 failed attempts. Prostine gel twice then had my waters broken and put on a hormone drip. This all took 3 days then ended up with emergency c.
I was hoping for a natural so I was happy to get induced but baby was having none of it.
If I had to do it again I'd still go take the 3 days of induction with the hope baby came!

I opted for a planned c-section. Not over induction, just over ANYTHING 😂 I just wasn’t willing to attempt giving birth any other way. It was only 9 weeks ago but it was completely amazing and I wouldn’t even flinch about going for another one. The sorest part of the entire thing (and recovery) was the cannula in my hand going in and that was just a nip!

Induced - all happened quickly and easily once on the drip. Drop started about 11am baby here before 5pm

I had the choice of be induced of elcs. I had an elcs booked for a couple of weeks time but was in hospital with severe pe and decided I wanted to be induced which they were going to start the next day (needed to have the second steroid injection for my DTs lungs as I was 36+4). I agonised literally all night about it, was in floods of tears and decided to go for an elcs as thought it would be safer for the babies (dd was breech/transverse or something).

It was amazing. I felt so in control of everything (even though I wasn’t!) and when things got hairy with my dd (dt2) there was an army of medics who rushed in to help her. She was fine after her dramatic entrance!

I’m unlikely to have any more, but if I did I would absolutely go for another elcs without thinking about it.
