HELP!! Was very sick now not so sick - anyone else had this?

Can anyone help?

I'm panicking because I started being severely sick a week ago (I'm 7 and half weeks pregnant with history of m/c) and suddenly today the sickness has dissipated. I still feel queasy but nothing like the retching and throwing up of the last week. I was sick like this continuously from 6-13 weeks with my son - and the sickness never disappeared or lessened for even a moment during that time.

Has anyone else been really sick and then suddenly felt a lot less sick? I've never experienced this before but I'm terrified that this is an early sign that I'm going to miscarry.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

I know what you mean about the worry. I'm 10 weeks and very paranoid (had a missed m/c found at 9wks). But I have noticed that my days seem to alternate between feeling sick (with no vomiting btw) and really tired. I find that on the days when I don't feel as sick, I can take advantage of it and eat more. THen the next day I have what seems to be a food hangover. TRy not to panic and eat well tonight while you feel able. You may find you're miserable again tomorrow. My sickness with ds was more like travel sickness with no throwing up at all. This time I've only been sick 3/4 times in total. Keep calm and look after yourself. hth

Thanks for that. When you've miscarried, you can't help looking for signs. I thought I'd be better since I have had one successful outcome with my beautiful son, but no.....I was cursing the sickness yesterday and wondering if I was going to be able to cope - so I should feel relieved in a way. But I'd prefer to be sick than miscarry!

Snap Rubyone-I had been feeling horrible & nausesous from 7 wks & all of a sudden,at 11wks,stopped overnight.I was concerned enough to visit my GP,as my breasts aren't sore anymore either, but he wasn't worried & said that it was likely my body getting used to the hormones.

I can't say I'm reassured,but there is nothing I can do.My 12 wk scan isn't until I'm 16wks {sad} & they aren't concerned enough to bring it forward.

I hope everything works out ok for you.

i had sickness throughout my pregnancy, and at times it stopped for a few weeks then stared again so don't worry my ds is just perfect.

Thanks again. It is good to hear that other people have had fluctuations in their sickness. Reassuring!

My sickness this time finished suddenly the earliest of all my pregnancies at 10 weeks, and I'm expecting twins. So hopefully everything is fine with you...

rubyone, I've heard of both things - sickness disappearing overnight, but also because of impending miscarriage. Are you booked in with a midwife yet? If you're worried, you could ask for an appointment, or go to an EPU for an early scan. I had one at 8 weeks, because of bleeding, and you could see the hearbeating which is so reassuring.

I was sick constantly everyday for weeks, then one day I woke up the sickness was gone and my boobs were pain free. Panicked like a fool, then within 12 hrs I was sick as a dog.

Funny how morning sickness can be the bane of your life yet so reassuring. Sure everything will be fine just enjoy the break from running to the nearest loo

rubyone - i know what you mean - i am 7 wks pg. Have been feeling like sh*t since 5 weeks, now suddenly i dont feel as bad and only get slight queesyness in the evening and sometimes in the middle of the night. I feel so much better and not tired like i was with DS's. I have concluded that because i am still getting some nausea it must be ok, and that my body has just adjusted to the massive hormune surge that hit it a couple of weeks ago

Tessiebear · 11/11/2004 21:01

that should say "hormone"

rubyone · 12/11/2004 12:18

Thanks again. I started feeling sicker than ever in the middle of the night so feel relieved. But now I'm miserabley throwing up!!

Best wishes to all of you who helped me through my short-lived crisis! It was very reassuring.
