Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
camillathechicken · 08/12/2007 21:23

it can be, but can be very powerful , i;d wait until you are full term. use it with a carrier oil for massage or in a burner

the smell is very distinctive, i didn;t like it

lavender good too IIRC

speak to an aromatherapist

can also be inhaled off a hanky in labour if you like the smell

merrylissiemas · 08/12/2007 21:23

hmm, how many weeks are you? i would consult an aromatherapist first tbh

bambino1andbigbump · 08/12/2007 21:25

i'm 39 weeks today. I guess my radox bath with it in won't have desired effect then!! Can I get it from health shop?

It is, it worked for me when I used it with ds1, was 8 days overdue so who knows whether would have started anyway. But I rubbed it into bump and contractions started about 25 mins later. Be warned, I had read that it can make contractions particularly strong and violent - mine certainly were strong lasting one min every 5 mins from the word go - no gentle introduction. For this reason, didn't use with ds2 but he came on time - would probably have used it again once got over the one week overdue mark. I got mine from the Active Birth Centre shop but you should be able to get it from any shop or website that sells aromatherapy stuff.

x posts, yes meant to say don't use til full term and I mixed it in carrier oil before rubbing on bump too.

merrylissiemas · 08/12/2007 22:14

you should have aproper aromatherapy massage with it. its very powerful stuff

I used it with DS1 - a few days days before due date along with Raspberry tea - I wasgetting impatient !! It worked for me as he was born on due date BUT that was my experinece and yes I will use it again. I read quite a lot about it before hand and recommend that you talk to an aromatherapist first - like the lady said it is strong stuff!!

Had it in oil burner for a couple of days and hasn't started anything off, but then I think I have a lazy baby
