Hi everyone, new here and hoping for some advise / experiences on getting pregnant after being on the combined pill.

I came off the pill at end of June, had three periods 28 days and now its been 45 days and still nothing. I did a pregnancy test at day 28 and was negative.

I've been on the pill for 10 years and can't remember what my periods were like beforehand. Anyone else experienced anything like this? I'm a bit of a worrier and don't want to call a doctor unnecessarily!

In all honesty, the GP is very unlikely to do anything. Disrupted periods are very normal for up to a year after the pill.

You could request a blood HCG test just in case but most likely your periods will resume soon enough. It's also fairly normal to skip one for no apparent reason and again GPs usually do not investigate until you have missed 3.

How true this is I don't know but I'd once read that for every year you are on the pill it takes the same number of months to get back to normal afterwards.
