Haven’t eaten in over 24 hours - 16 weeks?

Me and DP have had norovirus and it’s been a really rough 24 hours where I haven’t eaten since the day before yesterday - will the baby be ok? I tried to google it and read you shouldn’t go more than 3-4 hours, and something about 12 hour fasting is only moderately safe in early pregnancy only so now I’m really worried I’ve starved the baby. I was just so ill constantly yesterday there was no way I would have wanted food, let alone have kept it down. I made sure to try and drink as much water as possible to stay hydrated but I’m still really worried I’ve done some damage.

Anyone got any expertise on this?

As long as you're drinking fluids the baby will certainly be okay! Try and eat something as soon as you can even if it's something like a few dry crackers to keep your energy up. You don't want to go too long without eating but I've read that you don't think you can stomach anything which is fair enough! As long as you carry on drinking as much water as you can, baby will be okay.

This was the advice given to me in my last pregnancy by GP and midwife as I went through a phase of not eating anything due to extreme anxiety

I had HG in my first pregnancy and couldn't eat, or would throw up anything I tried to eat, often for consecutive days on end. As long as I kept fluids down nobody seemed to care! Ds1 is a strapping, healthy 4yo now so it didn't do him any harm. Hope you feel better soon!
