Hi. I've just been to the toilet and found fresh blood in my knickers. There seemed to be quite a bit when I wiped but it has since slowed if not stopped. There didn't seem to be mucus but TBH I wasn't really looking too hard! I've felt quite "heavy" down there for a couple of days, and today I've been moving a few things. Nothing heavy but just doing a lot.

Could this be a show, or something more serious? I've read all I can but it's quite different in reality isn't it!!!!!

Thanks in advance!

Hi, don't panic x

It could be something or nothing, but ring your midwife or labour ward and ask to speak to someone. They might ask you to comein for a scan. I would rest till you know what it is though. Take it easy, hope all is Ok.

A show is jelly or sludgey like ime. DS1s show was the classic clear jelly with red streaks and DS2s was white jelly/lumpy stuff over a period of a week or so.
Can you call the hosp and see what they say?
You should not be over doing things!!
I am sure it is nowt to worry about if it has stopped as quickly as it started, but I think they say any bleeding should be checked out?
Can't remember and twas only 14 month ago!

It could be a placenta issue (more serious) or something less worrying. I think it needs checking out though. Doesn't really sound like a show, imo.

What I mean is, it does not sound like a show to me.
Ring them and see what they say.
If you are not in any pain, I think you will be dandy so don't start to paic whatever you do!

They are right, you really need to call and speak to a midwife. Its better to be safe than sorry. Its probably ok.

Now no more moving things ok? This is the time to take it easy

Hi Sherida

I'm 25 +5 and had fresh bleeding for first time in this pg last week. I was kept in overnight and had scan and tests. Was very scarey, but turned out to be a cervical erosion caused by the tip of the womb rubbing against the cervix. Apparently it's very common and harmless and more likely to be triggered by lifting, sex, overdoing it etc... but definitely best to get checked out for peace of mind.

Take care x

monthlymayhem · 09/12/2007 12:45

Also meant to say that my bleeding started after going to the toilet for a poo so that can also trigger it!

Sherida · 09/12/2007 13:37

Thanks all, it's so worrying when this sort of thing happens, isn't it! Turns out I had the same thing as Monthlymayhem so nothing to be concerned about, but thanks for all your messages and I'm now taking things decidedly easier!
