8 weeks and my symptoms have disappeared

Morning all,

I've been feeling total pants with all day nausea and tiredness for nearly two weeks, from 6+0 until this Thursday 7+4 but now my symptoms have suddenly just disappeared! I have energy and don't feel ill.

This happened with my last pregnancy too and then unfortunately at my scan at 8+4 we found an embryo measuring 8+ without a heartbeat and was diagnosed with mmc, so now I'm panicking the same has happened again!

Has anyone else had a sudden loss of symptoms well before the 12 weeks when they're supposed to ease off an all was well anyway? I have a scan booked for next Thursday which seems like a forever away. And the EPU aren't there over the weekend so the earliest I can ring them is Monday.

I'm also wondering if my iron supplement was to blame? I was taking extra iron until earlier this week as my ferritin was on the low side earlier this summer and I wanted to get it up for pregnancy, but then read somewhere that I shouldn't take it every day anymore, every 2-3 days is fine. My pregnancy multivitamin has 14mg of iron and the additional supplement has 18mg, so both together are still below the daily upper limit of 45 so it's unlikely I've been taking too much, but could it still have affected my symptoms?

I just wanted to let you know that this is fairly common and there's quite a few threads on this. I felt absolutely awful from 4+1 and then my symptoms disappeared at 7 weeks and I panicked but oh no those symptoms came back again with a vengeance a few days later! This happened weekly until I was 13 weeks

The first week of my pregnancy I felt tired, sore boobs stomach ache- I just figured it was AF coming.
I’m 39 weeks now and had no Sickness or other pregnancy symptoms other than. Bump, kicking, and gestational diabetes.
My first pregnancy was a miscarriage at 8 weeks. This is my second pregnancy

Thanks both. I have seen lots of people mention symptoms going away for a few days and then come back. I'm still waiting for them to return return!

Currently 8+4 weeks and my nausea has gone and I've just got sore boobs then a bit of tiredness come 3pm. From 6 weeks, I had terrible nausea, felt bloated, very tired and VERY pregnant.

Not feeling overly worried and just remaining positive Flowers

Hope you are ok x

Hi @GinnyBee, just wondering what the result of this was?? I'm 8+2 now and my nausea has gone from being really strong most days to non existent for 7 days straight now :( I know symptoms can come and go but the fact that I was experiencing nausea pretty regularly and now it's gone for a week is freaking me out :(

GinnyBee · 01/02/2022 12:26

@Tor88 I'm now 25 weeks! The placenta starts doing some work from around 7 weeks which is why this happens. I felt completely awful again at 13 weeks! Then got better again. Now I just feel huge and tired.

@GinnyBee ahh that's amazing news!! Congratulations and thank you for replying :) Why does the internet consistly tell me I'll feel my most sick and 8/9 weeks then?!

Firsttimetrier · 01/02/2022 18:04

@GinnyBee I think I wrote a similar post when I was roughly 10 weeks as I felt normal again, where before I had awful nausea, sore boobs, fatigue to the point where I was horizontal for the majority of the day or napping.

I had my scan at 13 weeks and baby is looking good but I’ve started throwing up again at week 14 out of the blue but haven’t got a any nausea, so it’s very strange.

I wouldn’t panic as your placenta should be taking over and it is very normal ☺️

Don’t overthink it, you will make yourself sick with worry. If you need reassurance, ask for an early scan. This is what it’s for.

Sorry, just saw it was an old post!! Congratulations @GinnyBee!!!
