I have an early scan tomorrow. I think I'm about 6 weeks but I've used loads of those due date calculators online and keep getting different answers! I've had due dates ranging from 21st may to 5th of June. So I'm unsure if I'm definitely 6 weeks or earlier.

Start date of last AF was 28th August. I got my first positive test on 23rd of September.

How far along would I be? Just worried about my scan tomorrow in case I'm not far enough along

You will be close to 6 weeks, by first positive test did you mean you tested the day before and it was negative? If so, you could be closer to 5.5 weeks and 6 weeks at a maximum based on your LMP, but either way 6 weeks is very early for a scan so you might not see much anyway. By far enough long, what is it you want to see?

@sunnyside257 in a similar positive to you ! Last day of start of AF was 27th August, like you I have used online calculations and also had a few different dates ! When I spoke to midwife the other day she gave me a date of 5th June, and I downloaded an app which is telling me I'm exactly 6 weeks today and giving me a due date of 3rd June 🤷‍♀️ I suppose it all depends when we actually ovulated. Can't wait my my scan to give me a more accurate date ! And congratulations 😊 seems we are due near enough the same time !

Km12345 · 08/10/2021 21:52

I mean position not positive 🤦‍♀️ @sunnyside257

@catinthehat12

Well i tested at 9DPO and got a faint positive. I then done a few tests after that to get a more defined positive. So I just mean that's when there was enough HCG to detect a pregnancy. I know 6 weeks is really early and there's not much to see, maybe not even a heartbeat yet but I just wanted to check everything is where it should be and rule out an ectopic pregnancy and just generally confirm the pregnancy. I don't really 'feel' pregnant. No sickness, nausea, not really any symptoms so I'm getting the scan to as confirmation and some peace of mind

@Km12345 aw congratulations, yeah it seems we are really close. What app are you using? I'm using Flo and according to that I am 6 weeks today but all the other apps and calculators are giving different dates. It's so frustrating! I don't see my midwife until the end of October and I'm booked in for my 12 week scan end of November so it feels like such a long time!

If you know when you were 9dpo then you know when you ovulated. Work it out from that?

sunnyside257 · 08/10/2021 23:14

@ShowOfHands - I've tried that and still get different dates. I know the calculators aren't that accurate as such but I use the Flo app and have been logging everything on there for years. I logged a positive ovulation test on the 14th September so it predicted that I ovulated on the 15th. It's just weird how different calculators come up with different answers. I thought it was just calculated from first day of your last period.

The reason I'm a bit worried is because this scan is for people who are at least 6weeks and now I'm not sure if I actually am 6 weeks yet

@sunnyside257 I'll be honest I'm just using the 1st app that came up on my appstore 🤦‍♀️😅 I don't even know when I'll be seeing the midwife or have my scan ! Still waiting to hear from them about them, but I'm so impatient and don't want to wait past 12 weeks ! Tempted to pay for a private scan

ShowOfHands · 09/10/2021 09:45

I mean don't use an app. If you know when you ovulated, count on your fingers, in your head or look at a calendar! How many days since you ovulated? Then add 14. Voila! Like the good old days.

And I'd then book a scan for post 7 weeks rather than 6 weeks.

dorothygaleandtoto · 09/10/2021 12:11

40 weeks from your LMP (first day of your last period) is 4th June 2022. So I'd be working on that for now. Until you are properly dated at your '12 week' scan - that's when they formally set your estimated due date. Congratulations and good luck!

dorothygaleandtoto · 09/10/2021 12:13

Sorry, as for your original question - if your LMP
Was 28th August, you're 6 weeks today.

SheWoreYellow · 09/10/2021 12:15

I get 4th of June using the babycentre calculator which seems right.

Your dates should be that, unless you have cycles which are very much different to 28 days? What day do you think you ovulated? That due date will be based on you ovulating 14 days after 28th aug.

SheWoreYellow · 09/10/2021 12:16

And yes, you are exactly six weeks today.

sunnyside257 · 09/10/2021 12:33

@SheWoreYellow - thanks for your help. I'm sure I ovulated on the 15th. So should hopefully be 6 weeks or 6 weeks tomorrow.

They will date you from LMP unless you have extremely long cycles, which that doesn’t count as, I wouldn’t think. So I’d work on being six weeks today.

Ameteurmum · 09/10/2021 19:42

On the NHS website there is a due date calculator based on LMP which they will go with until the 12 week scan where it may change x
