Red blood in mucous and Im 12 weeks pregnant?

Hi im 12 weeks pregnant and I went to the toilet for a pee and when i was using the tissue there was clear mucus with a tiny bit of red blood in it. Im a bit worried as my first scan is not for a week and a half and i dont know if im overreacting as it was only a small bit of blood. TIA.

Hmm, did you have sex last night? That can cause it.

No last time was a week ago

i think it's fine. i had spotting during first weeks.

It hasnt happened in my last 2 pregnancies. Yesterday I had a small bit of mucus which was darker brown but i didnt think anything of it. Apart from that and a dull ache a couple of weks ago i havent had much ms or anything this time. I just wish they gave me a scan earlier like they did with my other two pregnancies It feels like ages away till I get a scan to see if everything is ok.

There is something called cervical erosion that can happen during pregnancy. Changes in your cervix from being pregnant can irritate it and cause traces of blood like you mention -I had it whilst pregnant with DS. If it is that it isn't a risk to your pregnancy.

If it changes /gets worse you could alwayys try NHS direct for advice? Otherwise maybe phone and speak to a midwife at your surgery on Monday -its unlikely that they'll bring your scan forward but they may be able to advise you on what it could be.

Thanks Betty im hoping its just that and nothing else. I did have a low lying placenta in one of my pregnancies and needed extra scans but it moved in the last few eeks so i didnt need a caesarian. But i didnt even bleed with that. It was picked up at my 20 week scan.

If it's still happening on Monday you could go and cry on your GP, they might book you into the Early Pregnancy Unit for an internal scan. That happenned to me with my first as I had pains too, scan and hormone tests were fine.

thankfully i havent had any more but roll on the scan so i can check everythings ok.
