Prodromal labour

I’m 37 weeks and after an episode of increased movements 2 days ago when We hunk the baby turned to the wrong position had an evening of close contractions. They then ceased but started last night again for the evening - close together and more than a minute long.
My hopes of going into labour were dashed though as they subsided again a couple of hours later.

I spoke to the midwife and discovered about prodromal labour. I had never heard of this! The thought of going through this for potentially weeks is not great. Has anyone experienced the same?

  • sorry autocorrect / phone typing - I think the baby turned to the wrong position after the intense movements, then had an evening of contractions.

Yep
I had it for circa 3 weeks, from 38 to 41 weeks every night at circa 3 AM. Circa 1 h of contractions spaced between 5 and 3 minutes, then disappearing

Thanks @marykitty 😕 that’s not encouraging but what I feared.
