I know every person's body is different, but just wondering if anyone had any issues with your bump expanding and previous surgery scars.

For detail, I had my appendix taken out about 10 or so years ago via keyhole surgery - so I have a small scar just below my rib, one low down just above my pubic bone, and one just underneath my belly button. The one at my belly button got infected just after the operation, so it is a lot larger than the other two. I am 23+4 pregnant with my first baby and my bump is getting bigger, and I have noticed the past few week that the scar by my belly button seems quite 'stretched' already - so I am a bit worried about how it is going to look / cope as my bump expands more.

Anyone have any issues with previous keyhole surgery scars when their bump grew?

@expectinglittlebear I had my appendix taken out when I was younger and they were still doing the full surgery not the keyhole one, not sure what the correct term is. So I've got a big scar on my lower right side. So far it's been fine with my bump, I'm 20+6 but do think about it at times. Especially wonder if a c section would be in a similar place and if that will be an issue. I'm going to ask my midwife about it next time

I had my appendix removed when I was a child, similar that it wasn't key hole then & the scar also got infected so I have a pretty sizeable lumpy, bumpy scar. I've had two babies & although towards the end of my second pregnancy it did feel very tight & a bit itchy it caused no dramas at all. Didn't have a c section so not sure if it would have impacted that but think it's probably lower down than appendix scar & sure they'd work around it if need be.
I have stretch marks around the scar but on the whole it caused no major dramas Smile

I had laparoscopy for endometriosis excision in December and was pregnant in the January

The 4 scars are belly button, about half way up torso and one either side of previous c section scar (3 years ago)

I am now 38 weeks and they get itchy from time to time (baring in mind they are only 9 months old) but no issues with them at all - if they itch I use bio oil and give them a scratch :-D
