I was just after some advice. I'm 24 weeks pregnant, absolutely shattered, huge already, I'm also suffering from pelvic girdle pain. Im 44 years old and overweight. In addition to this we also have a complicated pregnancy which means our baby will be in NICU for a period of time.
With all this going on I'm considering taking mat leave at 31 weeks. Is this about the right time?

Absolutely. Go when you feel like going. No right time. Sounds like you need rest and to conserve energy.
I'm 36, second pregnancy and I have Hyperemesis and pelvic pain and I'm going at 30 weeks.

I'm planning on starting mine at 31 weeks. My pregnancy so far hasn't been too bad, I'm 22 weeks tomorrow. But to be honest, I want Christmas off and plenty of time to sort the house/baby things out. I won't be going back though so that's made my decision easier

I think its different for everyone. You go when you are ready.

I'm 33 weeks and finishing in 2 weeks (the first 2.5 weeks are hols, and the last 2.5 are maternity)...half of me wants to continue until 39 weeks...I can probably still continue fine (I'm working at home)...but mentally, I'm so ready to go.
