Maternity leave

Hello all

Please can I ask for some maternity leave advice?

I am due my first baby on 17th Feb and I’m a primary school teacher if this makes a difference in leaving dates!

I have been told today I have a previa placenta and although I haven’t seen the midwife for proper information yet, I have read a lot online that says finishing earlier is best so you have more time to ‘rest’.

Has anyone had any experiences the same that can offer advice?

Thank you

I'm a secondary teacher due at the end of jan and have said I'm leaving on the 3rd jan (so actually will finish at the end of term but get paid for Christmas!)

When do you have to commit to your leave date? In many cases the placenta moves up and out of the way before delivery. Have you been offered extra scans to check placenta position ? With my first my placenta wasn't complete previa but was low laying and partial previa at 20 week scan but it had moved up by 29 weeks. Good luck!
