3rd Pregnancy in 10 months & no idea how far along I am

Hi! Anyone out there with any advice!?

I had a miscarriage on 13 Nov 2020 (PUL which came away naturally, suspected ectopic) and a second miscarriage on 23 June 2021 (MMC and had medical management). It is also worth mentioning that I have a healthy near 4 year old boy, I bled at the beginning of my pregnancy with him and was told at my 12 week scan that there was no viable pregnancy only for him to be found on a sonogram once I was referred to Birmingham Womens EPU. I later gave birth to two placentas and was told it was likely I had lost a twin early in the pregnancy.

Following my most recent miscarriage I was asked by Tommy’s if I would be interested in your HYMMN trial which included having a scan 8 weeks post-miscarriage to check all the pregnancy had come away which I agreed to. I attended on 13 Aug 2021 where the team confirmed the pregnancy had all come away.

Before I attended the scan I had been placed on Metformin (due to a recent diagnosis of PCOS) which caused me to bleed thick, red and heavy blood for 2 ½ weeks continuously. I was concerned about the amount of blood I was losing so I stopped the medication and the bleeding completely stopped.

When I explained this to the team at Tommy’s I was advised not to take Metformin until I had had a natural period as they and I were both in agreement that although I had lost blood it did not feel like a period in any way.

I still haven’t had a period since my miscarriage and as a precaution have been taking pregnancy tests each week to just ensure I am not pregnant.

On 12th September my pregnancy test was positive. I took 4 more throughout the day and all were the same.

I took a Clear Blue digital dating test on 13th September which said I was 2-3 weeks pregnant and according to their instructions this put me at 4-5 weeks pregnant.

On the 19th September I took another Clear Blue digital dating test which put me at 3+ so according to their instructions I was around 5+ weeks.

I took a final one on 26th September which also read 3+ weeks so I am trying to guess I was around 6 weekish?

As I have not had a period I have absolutely no idea how far gone I am or even if this is a viable pregnancy in anyway. It will be 4 weeks on Sunday since I had the first positive test!

Naturally, after what has happened to me in the last 10 months I am extremely anxious and worried. I am emailing to find out if there is any kind of support or advice to put my mind at rest a little? I am unsure how accurate the dating is on a Clear Blue but I am also really frightened to have a scan too early?

Any advice would be gratefully received as I am really worrying!

Sounds like you're over 7 weeks (at a conservative estimate) so a scan should give you a clearer answer now and show a heartbeat if it's a viable pregnancy. Given your history are you under any consultant care so can get scanned by EPU or can you pay for a private one? Wishing you all the best, I've been there so am well aware of the roller coaster of emotions you must be feeling.

Also to add the clearblue tests have always been reliable for me and rolled up to the next week indicator around when they should. They also failed to progress in some of my pregnancies that ended in mc (didn't use them a lot as expensive).
