Hi everyone,
I have been prescribed prochlorperazine 5mg three times a day due to nauseas. I am wondering if it is really safe during pregnancy as I looked on the leaflet and it's said no to take it whilepregnant. I am confused and worried! Thanks for your help!

I've been taking it since week 7. It is safe.

Please read the following information about different treatments for nausea and vomiting in pregnancy. There is a whole section on prochlorperazine and the evidence which shows it's safe in pregnancy.
The medicine labels always say not to take in pregnancy.

That’s stemetil right? It’s a standard drug the NHS prescribe for morning sickness, it’s very common.
I didn’t take it during pregnancy, as I had cyclizine, but I did take it during labour.

I had numerous injections of this drug whilst hospitalised for Hyperemesis at week 7.

It’s absolutely fine to take in pregnancy just not in the third trimester. Don’t worry x

Thank you all for your reassuring messages!
