Hi, i am 19 wks pg with number 2 and have been getting a few tightenings. With my first i didn't have braxton hicks (i think!) but had early contractions from 30 wks and was in and out of hosp. Just a bit confused really as to whether these are BH's (as i'm only 19 wks) or just one of those things. x

I certainly had B_H well before 19 weeks. You can identify them because your whole tummy goes rock hard like a ball, that is apparently the difference with 'real ones'. That's what they told me, I am 8 weeks away from feeling the real ones for the first time

Thanks, i think they prob are, just wasn't sure if you could get them this early. certainly getting a very tight belly (generally when i'm being active with my 3 yr old!) but only getting a couple at a time so hopefully nothing to worry about. Thanks x

I am 23 weeks preg with DC2 and have been getting these. I dont recall getting them at all last time. I am hoping all this training will mean my uterus just does one big contraction on the day and its all over

im 21 weeks and ive also been getting something like this my belly goes rock hard but its mostly in the evenings, i dont remember getting BH last time with my first pg. i will being watching this for any advice

micegg, yes that sounds good! I only hope that it doesn't mean that they will turn into real contractions pre term like my first. Couldn't bear having to go to hosp to be monitored with a 3 yr old to look after!
