Feeling extremely anxious at work

Anyone else?

I'm only about 5 weeks so still really early! I'm at work today, I work in an office. It's a public facing role and I'm extremely anxious and stressed. Just with the work load and sometimes the customers aren't always polite. It's just stressing me out having to deal with their tantrums and self entitlement.

I've not told my work I'm pregnant yet, was thinking it's too early and even if I did tell them, I don't think anything will change anyway. I can't see them pulling me to a back of house role. It's just horrible and I think the hormones are making me more anxious than usual. What should I do?

What kind of changes did your work put in place of any?

Once you know you are pregnant, it is worth approaching your boss and letting them know, so they can conduct a risk assessment for you and your workplace, to see if there are any measures they need to put in place for you.

If you don't want anyone to know until after 12 weeks, like most people, then just kindly ask your boss to keep it to themselves for now as it is early.

Better to have the risk assessment sooner rather than later, especially if work is affecting you in any way.

Thanks for your reply @expectinglittlebear - I will set up a meeting with my boss and see if there is anything she can do to help reduce stress levels. I feel like it's only since I've been pregnant that I'm getting all the complicated, rude and petty customers to deal with and it's just stressing me out. I'm just being paranoid and I don't want anything to happen to baby due to being stressed.
