Hair coming out, spotty skin .. 16 week woes

Hello! I’m having a really tough week and I don’t know if I’m being over dramatic or if I should call the midwife.

I’m 16 weeks 4 days but apart from feeling really puffy and round, I don’t really feel pregnant. I had a scan last week which went well but I still can’t help but worry something is wrong. I’m getting lots of hair coming out when brushing/ washing, my skin is so spotty and hormonal and my stomach (where I carry a lot of my weight) just feels flabby and not like it should be this stage.

The midwives in my area are very busy and quite short tempered so I don’t want to bother them unnecessarily and I’m not even sure if the above is “normal” or cause for concern.

Has anyone else experienced the above or similar and how did you handle it?

Thanks so much

Yup it's normal. For spotty skin when it was bad i made sure i cleaned with a mild soap every night and i rubbed some antiseptic after , it helped and in about 2/3 weeks it was gone.
Hair falling out I had in my first trimester and it stopped after (well until postpartum hairloss kicked in).

12 to 20 weeks is really hard because you don't feel pregnant... you don't feel movements and the bump is small and if you have a belly already you probably won't notice. I just looked like I had a big dinner 😅

Try not to worry too much. I wouldn't bother calling the midwife over this but obviously if you are anxious and it is severe an appointment to hear baby's heartbeat with a doppler might help?

I want to say enjoy not feeling huge and uncomfortable!

I could have written your post @HopefulRose. I swear I wasn't this spotty in my last pregnancy, and I certainly I don't remember losing any hair until post partum. As for the bump... well first pregnancy I didn't have much of one until well into the second trimester. I have a high BMI, so to be expected. It was still barely noticeable until the third. Only 15 weeks this time around, and now that the bloat has gone, I'm back to feeling flabby and fat rather than pregnant.

Unfortunately it really is all normal. Hopefully it won't be too much longer now until you start feeling those first flutters of movement, which will definitely help you to feel more pregnant.
