Hi all,

I'm currently 8 weeks 6 days pregnant with my first baby. I've been getting the odd bit of mild cramping every now and again, mainly at night time. I figured this was due to my uterus expanding. This evening i've had period type cramps in my lower abdomen that have been much stronger and quite uncomfortable. I've taken paracetamol and used a hot water bottle which has helped a little but they are lingering. I've not had any spotting or bleeding. I've got my first midwife appointment on Tuesday so thought i'd mention it to them, but just wondering if this can be quite normal or whether I should be seeking some advice sooner? Apologies if this sounds silly/over the top, this is my first pregnancy so I have no idea what to expect!

It’s super, super normal. Period cramps are just your uterus stretching and moving - and that’s what it’s doing now, in a different way! Prepare for a lot of weird feelings.
