Terrified for NHS 12/13 week scan

Hi,

I'm just feeling really worried about my NHS scan which is late next week. I've had a mmc before so I guess that's why. But the thing is I've had numerous scans with this baby, I last seen them at 11 weeks and I'll be approx 12 weeks 5 days at my next scan. So in my head I know I'm being irrational but I just can't help it. Is it normal to be THIS terrified when i last saw my baby like a week ago? I'm just so scared of bad news but I'm just hoping mine will be fine like the majority of pregnancies normally are!

Has anyone got any experience or stories surrounding this? Thanks! X

Very normal. I've had multiple with all my pregnancies, that feeling doesn't stop until they're in your arms I'm afraid!

I’m so sorry for your loss. Yes, it’s very common to feel heightened anxiety in pregnancy following loss and particularly to be triggered by situations in which you suffered trauma previously, like scans.

If you feel the anxiety is at a level you’re finding it hard to cope with, please ask for help, eg by mentioning it to your midwife.
