Early scan worries

I was just wondering if any one has any similar experiences. I had an early scan yesterday as have had a previous miscarriage in the past. I don't have any bleeding, just a few symptons like feeling tired and a bit sick.

My calculations put me at 7weeks exactly (I was using clearblue ovulation smiley sticks). It was an abdominal scan as they said they don't do the vaginal ones and the results showed I was measuring at 6 weeks with everything in place and a heartbeat flickering. She said she couldn't get a heartbeat reading however because of my breathing.

I'm slightly worried that being put back a week is a cause for concern? Any replies welcome, thank you in advance!

I wouldn't say it's a concern at all! I've had 4 miscarriages and this is now my 5th pregnancy in the space of 16 months and I had a scan at 7 weeks counting from my LMP, they dated me 6w 1d and then I had a private scan 10 days later and I was 3 days ahead of what was first predicted. At first I was worried like you, but I didn't ask them and they said in early stages it changes all the time and not to judge until your 12 week scan. So I really wouldn't worry yourself x

You know when you ovulate as in egg released but you don't know how long until Sperm got to it and got in. And remember it's TONY so even a mm difference could change the dates significantly. I wouldn't worry x

Thank you both so much for your replies, this is reassuring news. I hadn't even thought about how long it takes for the sperm to get in to the egg after ovulation. Congrats on your pregnancies and hope everything goes well for you. Xx
