Suffering awful with a cold and worried sick

I posted the other day asking if anyone else is suffering with this cold that everyone and their dogs seems to have.

It started last Sunday with a dry throat. I was fine, then Wednesday hit and I was wiped out, I went to work Thursday and the headache kicked it and I was out cold for 12 hours. Woke up this morning and the headache had gone, but returned later and again was wiped out for another 3 hours sleep. I've called in to work for tomorrow because I feel dreadful. Enough to take a Covid test and all negative. Paracetamol isn't even touching the surface now and I don't want to keep taking it.

Im just really worried about the baby. Im 10 weeks Sunday and im still on my wits with the early stage and now I'm this ill im just concerned if the baby is okay. I have a private scan Sunday as I was meant to have one with my fertility clinic last week but they cancelled so I've had to go private because they wanted me to wait till my 12 weeks scan in 3 weeks time and that's just way to far for me and my own sanity.

But is there anything I can do to ease the headache, that's what is crippling me most🥺 sobbed on the sofa today because im just fed up

I am full of a cold at the minute. I work in a school and there are all sorts of sickness, colds and of course covid going round! I had covid in July and have done some LFT tests and they keep coming up negative so I'm pretty sure I don't have covid (again!). You added that you had a headache though and feel wiped out which I found was my worse symptoms of covid, I would definitely go for a PCR just to check. The headaches I had lasted about 6 weeks and I was sleeping 2/3x a day at my worst!

Was your Covid test a lateral flow (home test?)

If so, you need to go and get a PCR test.

The home tests frequently give false negatives.

Its so horrible feeling lousy! If you're worried order a PCR test, but it is perfectly normal to pick up colds when you're pregnant- as your immune system is repressed, so it wont harm your baby and is very common - I had lots of colds when I was expecting. For the symptoms theres not much you can do - plenty of rests and fluids. Try not to stress as this will be making you feel worse! Enjoy your scan x

I've woken up this morning after a 10 hour sleep and thankfully the headache has gone...touch wood there🤞🏼 I suffer with migraines anyway. Also the air con in the work is broken so the heating is basically up high and I think that's what kicked the headache off on Thursday and it followed into Friday. But right now it's gone and I feel less bunged up this morning. Just very chesty cough still when I first wake up.

I did at home tests, yes. I didn't know they can't be accurate🤒 but I think I'll order a PCR just to be safe. Even if I do feel better today. I don't want to run before I can walk x
