Maternity leave

Just started maternity leave, baby is due next week.

I’m trying to keep myself busy as there is still lots to do before the baby comes, but can’t help feeling a bit down at times. I’m really excited to meet this much wanted baby, but all the changes are scary and I’m just feeling really unsettled.

Anyone else? Is this normal? Will it get better?

Baby will be here in no time and you'll have a new baby to loom after. Try and enjoy this free time now, it is hard as it's a big change in routine from working etc I made sure to meet up with friends and booked a massage and spa day as things to look forward to but I finished at 37wks

Hey! I'm due next week too, people keep asking me if I'm excited but I not sure I am. Not really feeling down, just a little apprehensive of how my life is about to completely change! I'm quite nervous about the birth and labour side of things too but I know it'll be fine in the end. In the meantime, I'm just trying to enjoy the last week or two of it being just me and my husband before all of our new responsibilities start!

Its completely normal to feel that way. I know I did and a lot of my friends did too
You're about to go through a massive change, and on top of that I know I found it hard to leave work and that added to the feelings of being unsettled. I know I struggled to relax and enjoy the time but now wish I could go back and chill out before LO arrived!

I cried for the first few days of my mat leave, I was so overwhelmed with all the changes and with suddenly having nothing to do for a few weeks. It’s a tough time! I soon felt much better though and hope you do too. x

I finish work on the 8th and have a week as holiday before due date.
I’m feeling a bit sad too I think it’s because in the last 20 years I’ve not had more than 3 months off work. I’m
Not quite sure who I am without work.
And knowing that I’m a week or 2 I will have a new title of mother is a lot of adjustment.
I’m just trying to take it easy on myself
